Our office works as a team and we meet regularly to prepare cases for trial or hearing in order to obtain successful results.
Don was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico. A graduate of Roswell High School in 1970, he attended the University of New Mexico in 1974 and the University of New Mexico Law School in 1978. He has been married since 1977, has two grown children and two grandchildren. Outside of the office, he enjoys family activities, traveling, fly-fishing, painting, and snow skiing. He is a life-long bilingual, New Mexican.
Don Vigil was awarded the Margaret Daily Keiper Award in Law in 1978 upon his graduation from the University of New Mexico School of Law in recognition of awareness of social problems, concern for people in trouble, dedication to the professional responsibility to provide justice for all.
For more than twenty years Don has served on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and served as its President in 2006-2007 and recently became a board member of the newly formed New Mexico Social Security Attorneys Association.
He has been recognized by US News and World Report as one of its Best Lawyers in America (workers compensation in New Mexico) and has been peer recognized as holding an AV Martindale-Hubbell rating.
Currently, Don is a member of the New Mexico Bar, the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, and the New Mexico Social Security Attorneys Association.
Randy is a Social Security Disability paralegal with our office. He was born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from Roswell High School in 1970 and then attended the University of New Mexico and obtained a B.A. in 1974. After college, he served in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan where he taught English. Upon returning to New Mexico, he taught English in Iran before returning to Albuquerque.
Then, he obtained an M.A. in Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico with a specialty in teaching English as a second language. From 1979-1983, Randy taught at Highland High School where he met his wife, Ursula. He spent 21 years in the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer in places like Belize, Turkey, and London. During that tenure, he obtained an M.A. in National Security Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Randy retired from the Foreign Service and returned to Albuquerque.
Upon his return Randy obtained a certificate in paralegal studies and joined the office in June 2005. Randy is responsible for case development in Social Security and in some long term disability matters. Randy speaks Turkish, Farsi, and some Spanish. Outside the office he enjoys continuing education, literature and creating art.
Nick Stiver is a native New Mexican who grew up in the
southern part of the state. Nick earned
his bachelor of arts in history at the University of New Mexico. Nick graduated from the University of New
Mexico School of Law in 2014. Nick is currently
licensed to practice law in all State and Federal Courts in New Mexico. Nick works in the areas of Personal Injury,
Worker's Compensation and Social Security Disability. Nick has experience in all aspects of civil
litigation and has worked on cases successfully argued in the New Mexico Court
Nick is a member of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association
and the New Mexico State Bar. Nick is
also a member of the Young Lawyers Division of the New Mexico State Bar.
Nick enjoys playing tennis, working with computers and
spending time with his wife and son in his spare time.
Andrea is a native New Mexican born in Carlsbad and raised in Albuquerque. She graduated from Rio Grande High School and the University of New Mexico where she received her associate's degree in Office Supervision and Secretarial Sciences. Andrea's legal career began her senior year of high school when she began working part-time for a bankruptcy attorney. Andrea obtained her paralegal certificate from the University of New Mexico in 1997. She has worked in both large and small law firms specializing in bankruptcy, personal injury, subrogation and worker's compensation. Andrea and her husband Paul have two daughters. She volunteers at her church singing in the praise band and producing media for the contemporary service.
Andrea assists with the workers' compensation and personal injury cases, as well as scheduling and day-to-day office management.
